30 Week Update

My doctor apt actually went fairly well yesterday. I met with a different doctor (same group though) and she was much more informative. She actually had twins and delivered vaginally which made me feel good. The only thing that makes me nervous is that this group of women don't consider twins "high risk" which could be good and bad. Good in that they feel confident that everything will go well and that I don't have to worry, but then bad in that things can go wrong and are more likely to go wrong since there are two babies that need to be born. But for the most part I feel good and have faith that everything will go smoothly and that I just have to trust these doctors that they will do what is best for the babies.

Well I am at 30 weeks pregnant and measuring at 39WEEKS!!! ah! I am already where I was when Carden was born and still need to hang in there for another MONTH at least! So the last apt I was measuring at 36 weeks pregnant which means that in two weeks I went from 36 to 39 weeks pregnant! I nearly doubled! Which I guess is good seeing there are two. My glucose level was normal. My blood pressure was 108/72 which hasn't gone up, another good sign! My weight went up 2 lbs in two weeks which I guess is good also seeing I should gain a pound a week. Hopefully the weight will start leveling off like it did with Carden.

I have felt so much better the last few days which has been nice. I just can't do anymore grocery shopping! I really can't believe how LARGE my stomach is. It just goes straight out and nothing fits. I am going to LOVE CHRISTMAS this year! I will want to actually BUY clothes!! It will be so nice to be back to my size again and be able to bend down, lay on my stomach, and be movable!!

Carden Diego, the SOCCER Player

Well I guess we should have named Carden Deigo since he has become quite the soccer player lately. He loves drop kicking the ball. He is also pretty good at ohhh no I am loosing all SOCCER lingo, what is it when they kick and run with the ball??? I think it is called dribbling, haa haa!!! But yeah, he is really good at that! Watch out LUKE, ASIA, and LOIS!!! (actually he probably picked this up from you guys! You awesome soccer players!)

Sacramento Zoo

Paige and Carden at the Zoo! Aren't they cute!I'm not sure what Carden is doing, but they loved the FISH. Paige said she found NEMO in there!

We had so much fun going to the Zoo with Spring and Paige! We got to see all the animals. Our favorite was the talking apes. They were so cute. They were doing all their "ooo" ing which Carden found entertaining. Thanks guys for taking us to the ZOO! We will have to go on another FUN outing soon since we both are having BABIES soon!!!

More precious moments

I got Carden out of his crib the other morning and then went right to my bed thinking he would follow. A few minutes later I wondered where Carden was. The house was so quiet. I finally got myself up out of bed to find Carden in his high chair just sitting there patiently for me to bring him some breakfast. It was so cute. I felt so bad that he had been waiting there for me and I was just lying in bed. He is such a good little boy.

Another story, he was in his crib and just started to call out "Mama". I really love it when he calls out Mama. I feel so needed.

Then tonight while putting on his PJ's I was trying to remember all the words to his favorite book Quick as a Cricket and told him that I would read it to him after we put on his pjs. So then I go to hang up his bath towel and I come back into the living room to find him in the rocking chair with that book open on his lap! I was so impressed. Carden is getting so smart. I love being a Mommy!

Carden also loves to help me clean. He helps me upload the dishes. He is so cute when I ask him to wipe his hands with a napkin. He also wipes his mouth as well.

Well I had a few more moments I wanted to write down but I can't remember them all and need to go to sleep.

BYU Trip

So the boys all headed to Provo for the BIG game last weekend while all the girls stayed home with the kids. It was pretty much 100 degrees the WHOLE weekend so we did a LOT of swimming. Carden usually wears a swimsuit but I had left it at home in my other bag.
Carden loves swimming and he can now stand in his cousin's pool which makes it so nice for Mommy to not have to hold him. He loves jumping off the latter and swimming around in the pool!

J-dawg and Justin! Go COUGS! Needed to get Grandpa in there! (bummer)
And we are sooo jealous that Justin got to go hold little HALLE! We can't wait to see her. She is sooooooo PRECIOUS!

I'm not going to make it...

The last few days have been extremely hard. My body is already at FULL term and it has been making it so hard. Every morning I wake up with shin splints it seems and my arches in my feet ache. I also have been feeling pain in my hands almost like I have arthritis. I really don't see how I am going to make it another TWO months! I'm almost at 30 weeks this Saturday and hopefully I will make it to 35 or 36 weeks. It is JUST SOOOO HOT here. I can't believe how uncomfortable it is. We have had almost a WEEK of 100 degrees and it is KILLING ME. Try wearing medical compression stockings, garments, two shirts, and shorts, along with carrying twins that measure FULL term, plus another 27 pounds with Carden in 100 degree weather! Last night I felt sick to my stomach and thought I was going to throw up. I just felt so exhausted. I couldn't even believe that I made it grocery shopping at WINCO with Carden and a FULL cart of groceries in 100 degree weather!

I can't even sleep at night and we struggle with a QUEEN bed. I pretty much wake up every 3 hours to move myself to the other side since there is no ROOM to really ROLL! I really wish we bought a KING. There are FOUR of us in a queen right now and let me tell you it does not work. Justin has been sooo good at staying right on that edge on his side. I feel so bad for him. He luckily doesn't move too much at night so I pretty much get all the room, but I know that can't be comfortable for him sleeping right on the edge. Already I feel like Justin and I are so sleep deprived and the twins aren't even here yet!!!

I feel like such a horrible mom. I feel bad because Carden still likes being held and I feel like I just can't do that anymore. Today just putting him into his car seat was hard enough having to bend over and pick up 27 pounds. I nearly had to throw him in his car seat this morning and I think it really scared him because he started to cry. It made me soooooo sad. It is just getting so hard and the heat doesn't help, along with the small bed, no backyard, and a toddler who just wants to play play play!!

I really don't mean to complain. I am thankful for everything we do have. I know it will get better and I know my hormones are just going crazy right now!

Another Testament of Christ

Here's the real deal...I love the picture depicting 3 Nephi 17, when the angels surround the little children.

Nervous!

Maybe I am over reacting but I really DON'T like my Doctor Group! I am so nervous for them to deliver my twins and maybe I shouldn't be but I can't help it. Every time I go to the doctors I feel like they don't really care that I am having twins. They also don't consider twins HIGH-RISK which is seems like every book I read says that twins should ALWAYS be considered "High-risk" and if the practice doesn't think it is "high-risk" then I should probably leave that practice. But the thing is I am STUCK. I don't know what other doctors I can call than just someone out of the blue. Maybe I should just keep calling around until I find a doctor that I can actually GO to! What do you think? Should I just not worry? Oh I just don't want to deliver twins. It makes me so nervous. I guess I should just plan on doing a c-section so at least the doctors will be prepared. I don't know. I seriously have been having nightmares about my delivery.

Sacramento Temple

Daddy and his new hair cut at the Sacramento Temple!

Last Saturday I gave the boys hair cuts. This is Carden's new cut! He got to stay and play with the Glenn's while Mommy and Daddy went to the temple, however, he wasn't too happy about having them leave.

This is me at 28 WEEKS pregnant (i'm also wearing my Grandma Stockings!)! HOLY COW!

Planning

Well I don't think I will ever be ready for these twins to be here. But these are the things that I am thinking I want to find.

1. SOUND MACHINE- Justin's Aunt had one while we lived with them all summer and Carden slept so well. It drowns out all the noise and seeing we have the LOUDEST neighbors I think I really want to find one! It had all these cool settings but we pretty much kept it on the beach waves crashing sound. I felt like I was sleeping on the beach each night!

2. Baby Monitor: Okay so I know our apartment is small, but our rooms are not close to each other which is nice but then bad at the same time. I am thinking if I let the twins sleep in Carden's room that I want to hear them as SOON as they wake up so I can run and get them before they start screaming and waking up Carden.

3. Curtains: I definitely need to put up curtains in Carden's room. There is a light that is so bright in there and then that room gets the most sun. I'm not really sure if this is a must, but I think it will also help drown out some of the noise from the outside as well as keep their room warmer in winter.

4. Double jogger or Bike trailer? Eventually I think I really would want either one of these. Probably a double jogger more than a bike trailer. I'm thinking I can get by with a double jogger especially if it has that bar so that I could put two in front and back of each other.

5. Queen Bed Frame: It is so crazy how pricey a stupid little bed frame is. We definitely need the storage space though since our bed is just sitting right on the ground.

So these are the things that I have been trying to find... as well as a cheap van!! So far I almost found a bed frame for free on C.L. but sadly it was already taken! As for baby monitors I have no idea which ones are good and they have a wide range on prices. Any suggestions?

The Update

It has been a crazy morning with doctor's apt. and ultrasounds! It stinks that I have to drive to TWO different locations for them, which are in complete opposite directions. So this morning I first went to my doctor's apt. I am 28 weeks and 4 days pregnant. My due date now is December 3rd not the 5th. I am now weighing 158 (so I gained only 6 pounds this month compared to last months 15 pounds!). Things are slowing down well at least I hope! My blood pressure was normal and has been, which is also a good sign. I am now measuring at 36 WEEKS!!!! Crazy! So I am now 8 weeks ahead of schedule. So in ONE month I went from measuring at 32 Weeks to 36 weeks, so therefore next month I probably will be at 40 weeks!! (HOLD ON!!) I have to go through ALL of OCTOBER at measuring FULL TERM!! (okay so that will be the worst month).

Already these babies are swimming LAPS in me! They were doing FLIP TURNS and KICKING like crazy last night. I could grab each of their backs at the same time! It was the weirdest thing. The ultrasound went well. I had to move to my side real fast. I felt like I was going to pass out just lying there for 2 seconds on the table. Luckily I didn't. The lower left baby, which is the girl is still weighing smaller than the boy. She is 2.13lbs. and the upper right baby, which is the boy is weighing 2.15lbs. Good to know that the boy is still bigger! The girl is closest to the cervix. And they were BOTH HEAD DOWN, but who knows what will happen when I go into labor. Hopefully they will be both head down and stay that way! The ultrasound lady said they are measuring as they should but she said their HEADS are BIG! Carden had a big head and he came out easily so hopefully that won't slow things down!

So that's the update! I really can't believe how BIG I am. I have been feeling pretty good though. The only thing that is getting really hard now is sleeping at night. I seriously can't get to sleep until about 1am after eating a few bowls of cereal! My legs are ugly but at least the throbbing hasn't been bad now that I wear my OLD LADY STOCKINGS!!! I'm still rollerblading to the park with Carden and able to exercise, which is nice. Also the lady said my cervix is nice and thick so hopefully these babies will stay in until November! Guess we will see!

28 Weeks- 3rd and Last Trimester

Carden loves to put my shoes on. He is actually really good at getting them on the right feet and walks around better than me in them!

Chase and Carden in their homemade speedos. Aren't they STUDLY!

Carden is such a great napper now. He usually takes a nap around noon till 2 or 3pm.
It is wonderful!

Daddy's NEW bike. He rides 18 miles a day now! His gluteus maximus is going to look GREAT!

Here is Carden finishing off his WHOLE bowl of RED beef stroganoff and broccoli!

Well, here we GO into the third and final trimester! I hope I can make it all the way! I am probably measuring at FULL term though, which makes me nervous and hopefully my body won't go into labor too soon. I have a doctors apt on Monday so I will be reporting at where exactly I am measuring. I also have another ultra sound and I am hoping the babies will be head down!

This pregnancy is flying by. But then at the same time I feel like I have been FULL term for MONTHS! I have to go the bathroom about 50 times before I finally fall asleep! And then whenever I do get up from bed I feel like I weigh over 300 pounds!! I just can't believe how heavy I feel.

Carden is sad because he can't eat the toothpaste. This boy is obsessed with toothbrushes and TOOTHPASTE (we are hoping that he wants to be a DENTIST when he grows up, since we still don't have a dentist in the family!!!) Carden is climbing up everything. He is not afraid of anything! At the park he is able to climb up any ladder and go down any slide. It makes it really nice for me. He also is OBSESSED with BIKES and SCOOTERS! He is actually able to pedal Chase's bike which he loves to do. The other day at the park Carden was able to ride this scooter that had two back wheels so it was more sturdy. But I was amazed that he actually was pushing with ONE FOOT! He is quite coordinated for a 17 month boy!

Carden just LOVES his Daddy. The other day he wouldn't stop crying when his Daddy left for school on his NEW BIKE!! It was so sad. Carden also knows when Daddy comes out of his room with BOOKS that it is BYE BYE to Daddy. He runs after Justin and cries for him to hold him knowing that he has to leave soon:( Carden knows what key opens the car and insists on doing all by himself.

Carden still loves to swim, jump on the trampoline, EAT, and suck his binkie. Carden won't let me take away his plate or bowl until it is all the way gone. He is such a good eater and I am amazed at what this boy can EAT! He is already wearing 2T and 3T things! I think he has the whole MARIN/JUSTIN body with the EXTRA LONG torso and SHORT legs!!!

Asado...Argentine Style

My mom gave me this really cool and authentic Argentine cookbook for my birthday. I was super excited because it has a recipe for chimichurri, which I know is authentic. I got this piece of tri-tip on sale and it was HUGE. I cooked it on the lowest setting possible for about 30-40 minutes with nothing but kosher salt and cracked pepper on it. (and a little olive oil) The meat was pretty dang close to the real thing. A nice layer of fat on one side...crispy on the outside (from the salt, not the cooking), done on the edges and pink in the middle. I also made my tomato onion and parsley salad that they usually eat with an asado. The chimichurri was really good. It is just fresh oregano, parsley, red wine vinegar, olive oil, garlic, crushed red pepper and a salmuera mixture (which is just salt and water).

Anyway it was a little spicier than the real deal, but was very close, so i was really excited. here's a picture. I had already eaten a huge plate, so it's not the greatest presentation, but it still tasted really good.

I think I've mastered the milanesa, gniocchis and am getting close to the asado. Once I get the empanadas down, it will be time to open a restaurant! :)

BYU 14 - OU 13

WHAT A GAME!!! I knew our O would struggle against a tough OU D, what I can't believe is how well our Defense played! They were flying around all game and held a team that just last year was the most prolific offense IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY to 13 points and half their normal yardage. Yes they were without Bradford in the second half, but OU only managed 10 points in the first half, their only TD coming after McKay muffed the punt and gave them great field position.

Two things I will always remember from that game (plays that will be come BYU legends)...the "double" goal line stand...and the 9 minute drive where Max led them down to score the go-ahead TD.

Rise and SHOUT the Cougars are out...here's to 11 more games like that!

Dreadful Maternity clothes

Wow, I am really sick of wearing maternity clothes. I just hate getting dressed in the morning. I feel like all I do is keep putting on layer after layer. Every shirt I put on feels like a huge BAGGY over my underclothes. I just can't wait to wear normal clothes again! The only sad part is that I will have to wear winter clothes after this pregnancy rather than summer clothes that I got to put on after Carden was born. I much rather wear shorts than pants. And I still have two more months of wearing MATERNITY CLOTHES!!!! ahhhhhhh!!!! Thank goodness I am going over to the Glenns to watch the BYU football game. I will just have to jump in the pool and wear my swimsuit the rest of the day!

So different

I still can't believe I am carrying twins. It is the weirdest feeling. They move so much and it is crazy how I can see my stomach move when they kick or punch. This pregnancy is going way too fast actually. I just am so nervous to already be responsible for THREE babies! I don't feel ready at ALL. It is still so overwhelming...

Carden is getting to be such a big boy. He completely understands me when I ask him to do things and it makes it so nice. Like tonight he went and showed me where his toothbrush was and waited for me to put toothpaste on it. He actually loves putting the toothpaste on himself but I was relieved that he let me do it. He also went and brought his sandals to me when I said to go get them. I love it when he tries to talk. Sometimes I wish he would talk more, but it is coming.

We went and swam at the Glenns and it was so much fun! It is so nice having them so close. Carden loves to be a copy cat. He completely copied Lois today jumping off the ladder in the pool but instead of using the top step he used the plastic things on the side of the ladder and then did a complete belly flop. He loved it! I will have to remember my camera next time.

Stake Activity-5K

Look at me and my sister... check out those BIG bellies! We sure had fun doing our 5K walk. Luckily no one went into labor!
Jason, Lois, and Chase getting ready for the big RUN!
This is Kierstin's friend Amy who was telling me all about HAVING TWINS (she has fraternal girl twins). I look pretty scared huh!
